This excellent live recording captures perfectly the phenomenal talent these space rockers possess. Sonora is the real thing. Just listen to Caravan to appreciate the greatness of this kick ass band. Favorite track: Caravan (Live). ---------------------- Psychedelic folk is difficult to do well. The music is either too folky (and meh) or too stoner (and the folk is lost in thundering guitar riffs). The Jefferson Airplane was one of the very few groups who could write and perform psychedelic folk. Canyon, in fact, reminds me of the Airplane's "Triad." Canyon has that perfect balance of dreamy Slick-like vocals supported by acoustic guitars followed by thunderous stoner guitar power. Highly recommended. 5 peyote buttons out of 5. ------------ Headline: Extremely Talented Young Russian Musicians Nail American Psychedelic Rock. Sonora makes beautiful, flowing, dreamlike space rock that induces fever dreams of the peyote-infused American desert. Very highly recommended. 4.5 peyote buttons out of 5. Favorite track: An Endless Journey Through the Sand Dunes. ----------------- Sonora is one of the great bands. That bring such wonderful space/psych stoner instrumental rock to the next level. Every song is different and packed with so much talent. Easily worth a full listen thru with the headphones on. Hope to see a vinyl copy down the road soon.
